Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’ve been with Alcumus for over five and a half years, I started as a Client Services Manager in 2018, progressing onto Client Operations Manager in 2021 and then into Head of Strategic Planning in 2022. I’ve been involved in many projects over the years, from Academy Training to Central Billing, to dealing with International Partners. My experience within the business has given me a well-rounded view of how we operate and assists me in any operational decisions I need to make.
What has been the highlight of your career to date?
I would say my proudest moment is watching the people I have employed progress within company. Seeing them develop within the business and progress into different roles and giving them the tools needed to grow within the business, and in their career, is incredibly rewarding.
On a personal note, I've witnessed multiple changes to the business in my time at Alcumus, and continued improvement throughout, leading to my own development and success in my role.
What do you most enjoy about your current role?
I enjoy the freedom and the ability to impact change in the business, and the trust I'm given in this role. This freedom allows me to explore innovative ideas, strategies, and approaches without feeling constrained. Equally rewarding is the impact I feel I have, to make on the overall direction and success of the business. Whether it's introducing new initiatives, refining existing processes, or driving strategic decisions, I enjoy driving positive change and growth.
What is your top career development tip for others looking to progress?
I genuinely care about the work I do and the business itself. I treat it as my own business – the decisions I make and the things I do, I would do if I were the owner. Consistency and perseverance are also important, I make sure that the job is always done to the highest standard.
What makes Alcumus ISOQAR different from other companies you've worked for?
In my experience, management has the ability to manage their teams individually - there is no micromanagement. There's a lot of benefits to working here, everyone is willing to go that step further as everyone cares about the success of the business. We are a large organisation, but it genuinely feels like a family run business.
Where would we find you outside of work?
Fishing (sometimes internationally), I go the lake district regularly, I love to cook, and I like to travel as much as possible! Also a big fan of Bourbon Whisky .
