Sustainability at Alcumus

Sustainability is important to Alcumus, as well as to our customers and people. Taking action to make our business more sustainable is core to our vision of helping create a safer and more sustainable world.

What we have already done:

  • Measured our carbon footprint since 2019.
  • Set near-term SBTi targets using data from our 2019 measurement year as a base year. Alcumus is committed to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions 53.5% by 2030 from a 2019 base year and to reducing absolute scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel and energy related activities, business travel and employee commuting 28% within the same timeframe.

In late 2023, Planet Mark became the newest member of the Alcumus family, joining as a stand-alone division sitting alongside Safe Contractor and ISOQAR. It made sense, therefore, to partner with Planet Mark to help us guide us as we take the next steps on our net zero journey.

Planet Mark is an internationally recognised sustainability certification which acknowledges continuous progress, encourages action, and builds an empowered community of like-minded individuals who make a world of difference. Planet Mark supports and guides organisations to net zero, offering tailored certifications for businesses and real estate.

As part of our journey to net zero, we are dedicated to:

  • Achieving and retaining Planet Mark Business Certification by measuring our carbon footprint, engaging our stakeholders and communicating our sustainability progress to drive year-on-year carbon reductions.
  • Completing a comprehensive measurement of all material Scope 3 emissions.
  • Delivering against SBTi near-term targets.
  • Setting long-term SBTi targets and confirming a year by which the group will be net zero.

By taking measurable and tangible actions to become a more sustainable business, we are contributing to a safer and more sustainable world.
